Dom Ruinart 2010
Tasted a few days ago during a meeting with the distributor, I really enjoyed this champagne.
Beyond its attractive pale golden color and its fine pearling bubbles, it boasted timid white and yellow fruit aromas with mineral and buttery nuances. The palate was generous, ample, round, and coated, with just enough texture and acidity to keep it balanced and focused. Easy to drink and friendly. Nice!
Yet, I prefer my champagne to be more polished and sophisticated, crisper (freshness/acidity), with a thinner, more refined "mousse." The "mousse" appeared a bit fat for my palate, and it lacked a "je-ne-sais-quoi" of character and personality for me to really love it. Nevertheless, it was still really enjoyable, and the bottle did not last long, which is a good sign. 😁👍🥂🍾
Cheers! Santé!
